I make a lot of shopping bags, it is a fact and you will see plenty more of them posted up on the refashion blog as I try to keep up with demand. Every time I give some away I get more requests, so I think every second post will be a shopping bag round up.
Today I made 3, only one of them is for myself (The experimental purple one). I made two other bags one of which is silver with canvas cream coloured squares and the other is a series of black and white stripes, it reminds me of a barcode pattern, so that is very fitting considering its purpose.
I mentioned in my last post that I will be giving them away to friends tonight.
I must also mention that I love all the comments that I have been given on my blog and here on the refashion blog...I love the positive feed back and I promise to post more pictures (a common request), even if they are just poor web cam images edited in gimp.
If you want instructions, here are my instructions, so you can also make a bag.

I always try to make instructions or a tutorial, in fact I am planning to do a giant pillow tutorial with all the different pillow combinations that I can think of and it is a lot. Just so you have something to get inspired by and look forward to.

Aha! I think I have found a kindred soul here! I was recently shocked when I visited Chris Jordan's "Running the Numbers" project and decided to make eliminating plastic shopping bags for myself and my friends and family my immediate action to help the environment.
I found this link:

for a reusable shopping bag pattern I really like that I hope to start making soon from reclaimed materials. Right now I am using a canvas basket and mottley collection of tote bags from the thrift store.
Good for you! I'm looking forward to joining Refashionista next go-round and seeing more of your projects there.
