I have been down with influenza, but I have still been able to make a few tea towels.
My brother had some time ago donated quite a few ruined work-shirts.
The backs of them were OK, so my first thought was to make them into rags, but the actual patterns and textures of the fabrics reminded me so much of tea-towels(dish cloths) that it seemed as if they were made for this conversion.
The instructions to making these yourselves is simple.
1. Find, get, steal some fabric that is potentially absorbent enough to be used as a dish-cloth.
2. Place a dish cloth on top of it (possibly with a few of needles in it to hold it still).
3. Draw an outline round the dish cloth and an out
er-outline circa 25mm (a large thumbnail) round the dish cloth.
4. Then take off the dish cloth and cut round the outer-outline.
5. Fold the outer-outline into the outline (fold twice if there is any danger of the fabric unraveling)
6. Sew all the way round, a running stitch will do the job.
Remember: It is a dish cloth and not a prom dress, it doesn't matter if it looks a bit rough.

Hi Alex, great re-use of shirts to make tea towels. The skull bag and pencil cases are fantastic too. I look forward to seeing your next projects!
